There were some crashes being caused when removing news items from the News context menu.

I finally got around to fixing the bug that was causing the widget to crash frequently. Sorry I couldn't get to it sooner.

Made a minor fix for a bug introduced in version 1.1.2b that could, in some rare cases, cause the speaking to stop during a session.

Also, give me feedback on the widget! Let me know what works, doesn't work, and what features you'd like.

I finally got around to adding the feature to track multiple user-defined portfolios with the widget. You can also now enter shares owned and prices paid and see the portfolio value change as quotes are updated. An option was added to the speech preferences to also have the portfolio value spoken when it is detected that the value changes. You can see your shares value change along with percentages under each symbol label. Clicking on the "Profit or Loss" text or on the symbol text now gives menu options to add or remove shares.

Just a quick notice, one of the benefits of signing up as a member of this site (which is free by the way) is that you can create your own stock portfolio and track it. It gets displayed in place of the "Market Overview" block on the right side bar.

Well, as you can see I have the site up and running. Now everyone can download the beta version of my widget and let me know how it goes.

I initially created this widget for my own uses and think that others may find it useful too, so I am going to release it to the public. My main use for the widget was to be able to get up and leave my desk during market hours while I am trading. I just put on my wireless headphones and then can hear how well the stocks that I'm currently in are performing.
