What is the Spoken Quotes widget you ask?

It is a widget that runs under the Yahoo! Widget Engine (YWE) that enables you to watch a portfolio of financial symbols by fetching quotes and news on a user configurable update interval.

How is it different from other market monitoring software?

It is different in that it will speak quotes and news as new data is found. The items that get spoken are user configurable per symbol, so if you only want to hear when the price of YHOO changes, you can!

What is required to use it?

You'll need an internet connection which I'm guessing you have since you're reading this. Next you'll need to download and install the Yahoo! Widget Engine (YWE). Then you'll need to download the Spoken Quotes widget via any of the download links on this site. Finally, load it via the widget engine menu.

What can I do on this site?

Currently members can discuss stocks or other investment and business related topics in the forum, post their own blog entries, report issues with the widget or related software, suggest enhancements to the widget or related software, add their own widget data sources, create a stock portfolio to watch.

In the future members will be able to share their stock portfolios and rate them, automatically synchronize their stock portfolio between this site and the widget, and get site content updates through the widget.
